There was no winner at the opening of this 9th day of Top 14 with the arrival of Montpellier in Toulon. Reinforced by the return of the internationals, both teams fought a fierce battle with tries by Webb for the RCT, and Bouthier for the MHR, but no tie breaker in sight.
TOP 14 | AVIRON BAYONNAIS - SECTION PALOISE : 3-9
It was a real fight under the rain in Bayonne. A fierce battle won by Pau and the accuracy of their striker, Hastoy, who authored the three penalties, securing the win 3-9 for Section Paloise against Aviron Bayonnais.
TOP 14 | UNION BORDEAUX-BEGLES - SU AGEN : 23-0
Bordeaux-Bègles emerged victorious in the Aquitaine match against SU Agen. A try by Cordero, then a play by Lesgourgues in the last moments of the game gave the Girondins the win 23-0, with no offensive bonus.
TOP 14 | CASTRES OLYMPIQUE - CA BRIVE : 28-26
What a nail biting end in Castres. We thought that the Brivists would win as they led with one point within a few seconds of the final whistle, but a penalty in the last moments by Dumora, gave the win 28-26 to the Tarnais. The CAB leaves with the defensive bonus point.
