TOP 14 | SU AGEN - LOU RUGBY: 12-13
LOU Rugby played a great comeback game against SU Agen. They were led by 12 points at the break due to a penalty try and a play by Zafra. The Agenais then yielded in the second half, thanks to two penalties by Wisniewski and a try by Chiocci in the last seconds.
TOP 14 | RACING 92 - ASM CLERMONT: 27-19
For this first major match of 2020, Racing 92 ensured the win 27-19 against ASM Clermont. Tries by Tameifuna, Thomas and Iribaren allowed the Racingmen to win, however they did not take home the offensive bonus due to Penaud’s try for Auvergne.
TOP 14 | UNION BORDEAUX-BEGLES - AVIRON BAYONNAIS : 22-3
On home turf, the championship leader dominated Bayonne with a win of 22-3. Tries by Dubié, Douglas and Lamerat enabled the Girondins to maintain their top spot and start the year with an offensive bonus.
TOP 14 | MONTPELLIER HERAULT RUGBY - CA BRIVE: 29-26
What a fight at the GGL Stadium. Facing Brive, Montpellier struggled to win with tries by Bouthier and Darmon. The Corréziens fought to the end, and even took home the defensive bonus at the end of the game after a 100 m try by Laranjeira .
TOP 14 | SECTION PALOISE - STADE ROCHELAIS : 13-44
It was a difficult transition to 2020 for Section Paloise, which hosted Stade Rochelais. On their turf at Hameau, the Béarnais lost by 44 points and five tries by Lavault, Plisson, Vito, Sinzelle and Aguillon. The Rochelais struck a hard blow with this victory.
TOP 14 | RC TOULON - CASTRES OLYMPIQUE : 43-3
The RCT continues its incredible momentum with this 6th consecutive win. In Mayol, against Castres, the Varois ensured an well-deserved victory with 6 tries, including two penalty tries at the start of the game and plays by Taofifenua, Cordin, Carbonel and Ikpefan.
TOP 14 | STADE FRANÇAIS - STADE TOULOUSAIN : 30-18
The Classico was a win for the Parisians. Facing Toulouse, the highly motivated Stade Français managed to bring down the defending champion in the wake of great performances by Fickou and Macalou, with the flanker scoring a double. Toulouse was able to reduce the difference late in the game with a penalty try and a play by Kolbe.
